Squarespace Names Liza Landsman and Michael Fleisher to its Board of Directors

Squarespace, a leading all-in-one website building platform serving millions of customers, today announced the appointments of Liza Landsman, former President of Jet.com and NEA Venture Partner, and Michael Fleisher, Chief Financial Officer of Wayfair, to its Board of Directors.

“As we enter our next phase of growth, Liza and Michael bring invaluable experience to Squarespace across multiple industries, sectors, and company life cycles,” said Squarespace Founder & CEO Anthony Casalena. “In 2019 we’re investing in key areas of our business, including the transformation of our product to deliver more services that help power the independent workforce.”

“I’ve long been an admirer of Squarespace’s mission to help entrepreneurs, businesses, and anyone with a creative idea by providing them with a modern suite of tools for building a beautiful online presence,” said Landsman. “There is so much exciting work ahead as Anthony and his team continue to grow the company, and I’m happy to join Squarespace’s Board of Directors to advise on this next stage.”

“Anthony and his team have built an incredible company and I look forward to working with them as they continue to enhance their industry-leading platform that makes it easier than ever to create an impactful presence online,” said Fleisher. “I am honored to be joining Squarespace’s Board of Directors, particularly at such an exciting time of growth and development for the company.”

At NEA, Landsman focuses on investments in the consumer, ecommerce, and fintech sectors. Previously, she was President of Jet.com, where she was a founding member of the executive team and later, following Jet’s acquisition, a member of Walmart’s U.S. Ecommerce leadership team. In addition to her involvement with NEA portfolio companies, Landsman is an independent Board Director for Choice Hotels (CHH) and Veritiv Corp. (VRTV) as well as the NYC based non-profit organization The GO Project. Prior to joining Jet, Landsman was Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the Executive Committee at E*TRADE Financial, Global Head of Digital for BlackRock and held various leadership roles at both Citigroup and IBM earlier in her career.

Fleisher serves as the CFO of Wayfair, one of the world’s largest online destinations for the home. Having led Wayfair’s initial public offering in 2014, Fleisher currently drives finance, mergers & acquisitions, human resources and business strategy for the company. Today, Wayfair is the online leader in the massive home category, with over $6 billion in annual revenue. Prior to joining Wayfair, Fleisher served as Warner Music Group's (WMG) Vice Chairman, Strategy and Operations, where he led their IPO, oversaw the company's global corporate strategy and operations, drove the transformation of its business models and operational processes, and managed all corporate development and M&A activity. Fleisher joined WMG from Gartner, Inc., where he served as Chairman and CEO. Fleisher's previous business experience includes working as an associate at Bain Capital and a consultant at Bain & Company.

Landsman and Fleisher join Squarespace’s current board members, including Squarespace Founder & CEO Anthony Casalena; Accel Partner Andrew Braccia; Getty Images Co-Founder, former CEO & Deputy Chairman Jonathan Klein; Index Ventures Partner Dominique Vidal; and General Atlantic Partner Anton Levy.
