John Malkovich Will Star in Squarespace's Super Bowl Spot

Actor and director John Malkovich, who recently appeared in a short film for Squarespace, will also star in the brand's Super Bowl ad.

The company isn't yet releasing details about the 30-second spot, which it developed with creative partners John x Hannes. This marks Squarespace's fourth appearance in the Big Game.

Squarespace's recently-released short film chronicles Malkovich as he embarks on a career in fashion, using the website development company to help him redesign his website, JohnMalkovich.com, to display his new fashion collection.

"At Squarespace, we seek to work with bold, creative individuals who aren't afraid to take risks," said David Lee, CCO at Squarespace. "John's willingness to evolve as a creative and actually create a new career for himself, entirely separate from what he's best known for, was incredibly inspirational to us, and represents the kind of entrepreneurial spirit we support at Squarespace."

Squarespace's spot for last year's Super Bowl featured comedy duo Key & Peele, who also took part in a pretty fun stunt sponsored by the brand: the pair did a livestream of video commentary throughout the game without having the rights to talk about the game. Squarespace's 2015 Super Bowl spot starred Jeff Bridges.
